1. GETTING STARTED

SYNOPSIS:
When it comes to getting started, one all important caveat applies. Start early, don't procrastinate. When you have time on your side, you have a valuable ally. When you run out of time, you could have a very disappointed group or a patch which is less than it could have otherwise been.

DETAILS:
The time to start work on your event patch is when youre group has set the date, secured the facilities, and done the planning. At that point you should know enough about the event to be able to start thinking in concrete terms about the patch creativity (what it should look like) which you may also want to use for t-shirts, site decorations, registration flyers or whatever. You can start on the creativity and even have your patch art done well in advance of getting your registration numbers. So start early, get that little hurdle out of the way, and you'll move with ease through the rest of the process.
